PEEX-MP to address urgent scientific challenges in the Arctic-boreal and China

22 April 2024

The Pan-Eurasian EXperiment (PEEX) is a multidisciplinary and multi-scale research programme addressing significant uncertainties in Earth system science and global sustainability matters related to the Arctic, boreal Northern Eurasian regions, and China.

It aims to deeper comprehend physical, chemical, and biological mechanisms, as well as the interactions and feedback loops within the Earth's system. This understanding provides crucial insights on risks, impacts, consequences, and other factors affecting populations, environments, and climates within the PEEX region.

In this article, Alexander Mahura, Alexander Baklanov, Risto Makkonen et al. introduce and discuss the PEEX-Modelling-Platform (PEEX-MP), which includes more than 30 different models capable of helping to address urgent scientific challenges of the Arctic-boreal and China domains.
