The Arctic is warming at a 4 times faster rate than the rest of the world which current climate models fail to replicate. What role do particles in the air from natural sources play on climate change, and do we fully understand the impact of rapidly melting sea ice and snow? This was the topic for the CRiceS webinar 18 September 2024.
Through presentations and an engaged panel discussion, the participants presented resent research on the effect of sea salt aerosols emitted in sea ice regions on the polar climate. The webinar gives insight into how models can and need to be improved for a better understanding of the present-day and future polar climate.
